I know it's been forever since I have updated this blog but it's been a little crazy... Ha ha that's my excuse.
Anyway we moved to Clovis back in February and we lived in a fifth wheel for about 3 months. We finally decided to make another move about 15 miles away to portales. At this point I was 9 months pregnant and we were trying to get moved at the same time Hector was really busy with training so to say the least I was working pretty hard and I guess that it why I went into labor 2 weeks early. Lane was born on may 22nd. Of course that made him and Shawnda 11 months apart.... Crazy I know. But anyway he is 4 months old and Shawnda is 15 months. She is one busy little girl walking everywhere. I am one busy mom with these two babies, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.

We had these pictures taken right before christmas...yeah it has taken me a while to get them posted. Life has been so busy for us. We are moving in a week, and I can't believe how fast time has gone. Also we found out that WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!! We are so excited. Shawnda is growing so much and everyday is amazing with her. I am sure she is wondering what the heck is going on with her parents...there are boxes everywhere and she has been playing alot by herself. But she is sweet and does her best. Life is so good to us, and we are excited for our new adventures to begin.

PREGNANCY
It has been so long since I posted anything. the last posts were back in September I think..well alot has happened since then.
At the begining of October I started to feel nauseated, and I thought oh my gosh I can't be pregnant...well I decided to take apregnancy test and let's just say that I almost quit breathing...yes it said PREGNANT!!! I seriously couldnt believe it. I mean Shawnda was only 4 months old. It was a little mind boggling to me because HEctor had only been home for 5 days and I was on the pill. Well we went through a roller coster of a week because they thought that I had miscarried and we had even had an ultrasound where they couldnt find a heartbeat, but I was still feeling nauseas and pregnant, so they did another one and they found the heart beat. My doctor was really surprised and so was I. It was finally determined that I was 6 weeks along and my due date is June 6th, which is only 4 days after Shawnda's Bday..Yes they will be exactly a year apart..maybe even a little less. So crazy.. Well I have since had two ultrasounds and I am now passed my 12 week mark. Everything looks good so far. I am now getting excited..I am still a little dazed and I know it is going to be hard with two babies, but I also know that this baby is meant to come. That is the only way to describe it. And so we will gladly welcome him or her into our family...like Hector said, "We take blessing when we can get them".
MOVING
A couple of weeks after all of that craziness we found out some other big news...we got orders to Clovis, NM. Yes I said NEW MEXICO!!! We are so excited. We will be about 4 hours from my family and about 8 from Texas. Hector has to be there by the 28th of February, but I think we will leave about the 1st. There is som much to do, with either selling the house, or renting. Lots of packing to do, and we are trying to figure out the best way to get all of our stuff down there. Its going to be nutts, but I cant wait.
LITTLE MATT

My family has really been through alot lately and in October we were faced with another death in the family. On October 26th my aunt Tondra's little 4 year old son Matthew was killed. He had went down to the fields with his 12 yeard old brother Quinton to get the horses in for my Grandpa. Him and my dad and brother were going to go and get some cattle in. Anyway they had taken some grain down with them and the horses started fighting over it, and little Matt was just in the wrong place and was kicked by a horse. She had actually been kicking at another horse and he was kicked in the back of the head. My aunt an grandpa were at the house and she saw QUinton running up carrying little Matt and they immediately called 911. When they got there they sent for a helicopter and meant them at the Dairy Queen in Bluewater where they flew him to ALbuquerque. HE died there at the hospital. It was such a shock and I knew that I had to be there. SO I flew out two days later. It was one of the saddest funerals I have ever been too, and it was just heart breaking to see my aunt. I stayed in New MExico for 2 weeks. I was able to spend alot of time with my aunt and also my family. It was bittersweet. Shawnda got to spend alot of time with her Grandpa, and aunts and uncles and cousins. It is defintiley things like this that make you hug your kids a little closer and appreciate life.

Hector has been gone for almost two weeks, so that is alot of time to bond....I am not saying that I didnt bond with her when she was born, but it just seems like the more I am with her and the more time that we spend together the more I just cant imagine my life without her. I just can't even believe that I am mother, and I take that role with alot of importance. I sit and look at her, and now she is starting to smile at me alot and I think of Heavenly Father humbly giving us this little girl, and trusting us to take care of her and teach her the gospel. I find myself realizing that this time of her being little will not last forever. She will sooner or later grow up and leave us. She will hopefully have a family of her own someday and she will feel the same way that I do. I have to make the best of this time with her. I love her so much. I love her little smiles...the way that when I look at her and talk to her, she acts like it is the best thing in the world. She depends on me for her needs, and I love that. She is my sweet little daughter, and I really couldn't love her more.

My Granny made it for her...it is something that I will forever treasure. It is all crocheted and it is flawless. She looked like a little antique doll in it. The three of us...

Family Reunion

We just recently had a family reunion in Bluewater . When my aunts where here in Delaware last fall we planned this reunion, and then when my Grandma died they decided to go ahead and have the reunion. I was so happy that we got to go...I loved seeing everybody and it was extra special because everyone got to meet Shawnda. I have to admit that it was hard at the same time because there was a definite void without my Gram there...my Grandpa told me three or four times how much my Grandma would have loved SHawnda. There is Carrie Underwood song called,.."american girl". It talks about a dad and his little girl. Well all while I was pregnant we would listen to this song and we were so excited to have our little girl Hector was especially excited. Right after Shawnda was born I was holding her after they had cleaned her up and Hector walked over and held out his arms to hold her...I will never forget the look on his face..it was pure joy. He has not been the same since. He cannot get enough of her. He tells everyone that he usually doesn't like babies or pay any attentiont to them, but Shawnda is the most beautiful baby he has ever seen (pretty sure he is biased) but he just is so happy to have is little girl. I guess I have to agree..so am I. We love her more than we can say.

She is doing so good, and I am proud to say that we are breastfeeding!!She is still really little, but she is growing and that is all that matters. I love her so much and I love being a mom. Well this week has been pretty crazy. I wrote about recently giving birth to my little Shawnda, and that was on a Wednesday. We were in the hospital till Friday and then cam home. On sunday we were at home Ki and Kate and I were sitting in the house when we got a call that my Grandma had been in a car accident in Arizona where she had been helping my aunt with her kids. APparently she was taking 4 of my cousins to church when she ran a stop sign, and got hit by a diesel truck. They did CPR on site and then air lifted her to Tuscon. One of my cousins was also air lifted and the others were taken by ambulance. They told us right away that Gram was in very critical condition. But I just kept thinking that she would pull through. But about 1 hour later she passed away. We were really upset. I am so grateful that Ki and Kate were here when we found out. I really just couldnt believe it. everyone has been in shock. So right away my sisters started trying to figure out how to get flights home. Luckily by a miracle they were able to get flights home for the next day without having to pay more. I was not sure if we were going to go. Shawnda was only 4 days old. I figured that we would wait and decide after taking her to the pediatrician. But truthfully I knew that we probably wouldnt. Her and I had really struggled with nursing. And then after all of this with my Grandma I fel like I had less milk. I was really stressed and very emotional. This whole thing was a nightmare. By Monday night I knew that my milk supply was way down and Shawnda was so hungry. I was afraid that I had lost my milk due to the stress of everything. That night we finally gave in and gave her a bottle. It was so sad cause she just gobbled it down. The next day decided everything. Shawnda only weighed 5lbs .48 oz. She had lost to much. I knew we couldnt go. SO now I am feeding her every 2 hours with formula and I am pumping every 3. I am so busy keeping up with that, but I still find my self having bouts of crying. I keep thinking of talkin to my Grandma right after I had Shawnda, and they voicemail she left me the night before she was killed. She was so close to all of us, and I will miss her so much. It is so hard not being at the funeral on Saturday. I want to be with my family, but I know that I have to just focus on Shawnda. My grandma wouldn't expect anything less. I love her so much, and she left behind a great legacy and example for all of us to follow.

She is finally here. Our little girl was born on June 2, 2010. I went in on tuesday the 2nd at 6:30 that night and they inserted cervidel to soften my cervix and hopefully make me dialate. I was a 2 at that time. That night I had horrible like menstraul cramps but that were consistent like contractions. By the next morning I was a 4. They started the patosin at 7am and by 10 I was a 6 and into labor. At this time I got an epidural and they broke my water. It was hard getting the epidural because I was having hard contractions while he was trying to put in the epidural. It was pretty horrible. But anyway about 1 hour later I was a 9 and I couldnt help but push. They kept telling me not to push and wait for a doctor but I couldnt help it. I pushed for 36 minutes and she was born at 2:16 pm. In all i was in labor for 4 hours and pushed for 36 minutes. Hector was with me the whole time and was a great support. Kileigh was also there and I was so grateful for that. I was there when her first, Porter was born so it meant alot that she could be there for mine. Anyway we love our little girl and we are so proud of her. I feel great. By the next day I felt great. I was sore, but I have bounced right back. She weighed 6 lbs 11oz, and was 20.25 inches long.

Mothers

I was thinking that mothers day is here this coming weekend, and I was kind of excited because this year while I dont have my baby here yet she will be here in a matter of weeks. Finally I am able to say that I am a mother, a mommy. That is something that I have always dreamed of...Being a wife and a mother. How blessed I am. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little girl, and I am so humbled by the thought of having her here.

But anyway as I was thinking about motherhood, of course I had to think of my dear sweet mother who passed away 13 years ago. I was only 17 when she died, and while I know she was not perfect, she was such a great mom. I get emotional just thinking about her, and it saddens me greatly that she is not around to see her kids and her grandkids. She would get a kick out of watching Porter, Payson, and Jaxson. She would love them to pieces. How awesome it would be to have her advice and wisdom. There are so many times when I wish I could call and talk to her, she would tell me how it was when she was pregnant and what maybe to expect. She would be buying this little cute outfits just because she couldnt resist. Of course she would be here when she was born, and I would feel so good knowing that my mom is here so everything will be all right. But in reality she is not here, and in the last 13 years I have learned to live without that. So for me when I think of a someone who feels that gap for me, who offers advice with pregnancy. being a wife, and a mother there a few ladies that pop into my head...

My sister KiLeigh...what can I say she is my best friend in the world....besides my hubby. She and I talk at least once a day. We live 2000 miles apart and still I know everything that happens in her life and she knows everything that happens in my life too. We drive our husband crazy talking all the time, but we dont care we need eachother. She is always there to hear me complain, and cry..which lately is alot. We can always talk, I dont care if we have just got off the phone hours before that...there is always something to talk about. She really is my best friend..and to be honest she was the first person to know that I was pregnant. Only because Hector was at work and I had to tell someone. And now with upcoming birth of our little girl she is making sure that she will be here for three weeks along with her little boys and my other sister Katie. I know what a sacrifice it has been to buy the tickets and get ready to come here. But she has been determined to be here for me no matter what. So Ki you are my best friend, and such a great example to me.

Another great girl in my life is my little sis Katie...she is not a mother yet, but I just love her to death. She is entertaining, and she is always there to talk to . What would I do without her...I am not sure.

There are other mothers whom I talk to on a regular basis...my cousin Janalee, she keeps me laughing. My cousin Erin, and my Aunt Trish they are just a few, and of course my Grandma and Granny. I love them all, and I so grateful for the women in my life. Happy Mothers Day everyone.

Baby Shower in New Mexico

The last weekend of February my sisters through me a baby shower there in Bluewater. I really had a time getting there. We had another snowstorm here in Delaware and so my flight was cancelled twice. Needless to say I finally got there like 30 monutes before the shower. It was so nice to see everyone, and I got some wonderful gifts. Thank you so much to all of my family and friends there that were so thoughtful.

This weekend we had a huge blizzard and got about 3 feet of snow. Hector was gone so i was snowed in by myself..it was not fun. I have to say that it has really taught me alot about being prepared. We are bracing ourselves for another winter storm...more snow expected. All I can say is that I cannot wait for Hector to get home.

So today we went for our 20 week ultrasound, and we found out that we are having a girl. I am still in shock because we both wanted a girl really bad, although a boy would have been just fine too. But anyway since we wanted a girl so bad, I just thought that for sure it was a boy. But there she was. Hector and I are so happy and excited. She looked very healthy, and strong. Anyway we just feel so blessed to have a healthy baby so far, and that all is going well.

So today the 17th of November i finally got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Let's just say that it was an amazing experience. I have been really nervous with this pregnancy..i guess the first time jitters. But anyway today hearing the heartbeat was so special. There really is a baby in there. I can't wait to to hold it..i can't wait to be a mommy. We will find out the sex of the baby right before Christmas..that will be neat too. I am just so grateful for this amazing experience...and for the chance that Heavenly Father is giving us to have one of his children

So this past week I have been pretty nauseated and Hector has been gone on a trip out of the country so it has been long, and kind of a downer week. But I have this good friend Christine that decided to help me get flower beds ready to plant mums in for fall. It was a lot of work, but it turned out so cute, and it made me happy. We are so excited to say that I am pregnant. I was a little surprised to find out that I was especially since we had only tried for a month. But I am so grateful that Heavenly Father saw fit to not make us wait. I have dreamed of being a wife and mother for my whole life. I have always loved kids, and especially babies. I wondered for a while if I would ever get the chance to be a wife and mother...and now it is happening. Sometimes I cant believe it...in face, it is so shocking to me that I have done 4 pregnancy tests to confirm it...I am a dork I know. Hector is thrilled to...he is just excited to start our family.

After the graduation they had a banquet that was pretty fancy. It was just to honor all of the servicemen and especially those who graduated. It was so much fun to have Hector's parents and sister Edna there.

So as I mentioned Hector was in a NCo academy in San ANtonio for 6 weeks. To say that it was hard is an understatement. It was intense. It counted as 12 college credits and they did it in 6 weeks. But in the end he graduated. It made us so happy. I was so proud of him and it made me proud that my husband is in the air force and that he serves his country.

OK well we have had a busy summer . At the end of July we went down to New Mexico. We drove of course...and I was there for three weeks. Hector was in a NCO academy for the air force in San Antonio for 6 weeks. So it was really nice to spend some time with the family. I loved it so much. The first week I was there we had couzins camp..which is something that my Grandma does every year with her grandkids. And then the next week I went to Ki's and it was so much fun. We took there joiner buggies out and drove all over the place. I love her family. Porter and Payson are just so cute and I really enjoyed playing with them. We also went camping on the Zuni's as a family. WE took the horses up, and had green chili with fried potatoes and tortillas. It was so nice and beautiful up there. I also went to the mountain with my Dad and Katie and her and I moved some cattle. I just really miss the ranch, I miss team roping which we did quite a bit. ANyway I thoroughly enjoyed being there and I can't wait to go back.

So in March of this year I had the lapband surgery..it was kinda a scary thing to do, but I just felt like it was right. It has really gone well...to date I have lost almost 70 pounds. I will never regret doing this. I have had no problems and I am learning to eat right and not feel deprived. It is great. I am so happy that I will have my weight off to start a family. Iguess I am just really blessed and I wanted to share it with all of you.

Niagara Falls and Palmyra, New York

This past week we had our first anniversary so we decided to go away for Memorial weekend. We decided to go to Palmyra, NY and Niagara Falls. We rented a RV from the Base here and then we parked it in Plamyra. It was so much fun. I loved Palmyra, and I couldn't help trying to picture Joseph Smith and his family living there and everything tha took place. Hector and I really enjoyed ourselves and were so glad that we were able to go. One thing that I will never forget is the Sacred Grove. The feeling in there was so amazing. I am so grateful to be apart of this gospel, and with that I am so grateful that I found the most amazing person in the world. I love Hector so much, and while we have had our ups and downs this year has been the happiest.

Well every month or so Hector goes out of the country to deliver cargo to places like Germany, Spain, Afganistan, and Iraq to name a few...so that is my time to do my little projects. He has been gone over week this time so I have been busy sewing curtains, and pillows. I also made some wall decor that I found online. I am mostly putting these pictures on here for my sisters and my cousins since they live so far away from me. While there are millions of mistakes on everything that I made I am still pleased at how everything turned out. It is always a good feeling to make something yourself.

AS Christmas rolled around this year it was looking like we weren't going to be able to go home to New Mexico for Christmas...to say the least I was bummed. Well that Wenesday like the week before Christmas Hector came home from work and asked me how I would like to drive out to NEw Mexico..I of coursed said yes depite how far the drive was. Well we left that Friday at 5pm and drove straight throught and got there at 4am..36 hours straight. It was a very long drive. The other thing was we hadnt told anyone except Ki that we were coming. It was quite the surprise at 4am when we knocked on the door and my dad answered...it was priceless. I will never forget it. We defined the phrase..I'll be home for Christmas. It was defintely worh all of the driving. We also got to meet out nephew little nephew Jaxson...Logan's new baby. I loved seeing Ki's little boys on Christmas morning, and there was also snow so it was a white Christmas...anyway I am just so grateful that we were able to spend Christmas with family...it was one of those times that I will remember all of my life.

I wanted to share this recipe..I made it this year for Thanksgiving. I am not sure why but I was nervous to make a pecan pie, but it turned out really well, and it was super easy... Happy Holidays!!!

Pecan Pie

1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, and stir in melted butter. Stir in the brown sugar, white sugar and the flour; mix well. Last add the milk, vanilla and nuts.
Pour into an unbaked 9-in pie shell. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until done.

Here are some pics of the cattle drive. Like I said...it was such a good time. We really enjoyed being out there. The weather was perfect and it was beatufil on the mountain seeing all of the fall colors. KiLeigh's little boys are adorable. Porter is quite the little 2 year old. I always tell her that he is an extra ordinary 2 year old. And little Payson is just precious. He loves to cuddle and be kissed. It was also fun to see Logan and Beth. We are really excited for their little baby boy to get here. And then of course it is always fun to see Seth and Katie. They are both definitely teenagers, and very much into their cell phones. Ha ha

Well here are some pics of Hector with his new bike. It is actually rode worthy. We got hit to save money driving back and forth to the base. It gets like 80 miles to the gallon. Which is alot cheaper to drive than the dodge. But he really has fun with it. A little to much fun sometime. He likes to think that our dog Shay like to ride on it..but this is just a split second picture where I caught her before she jumped off.

Hector's Grandpa passed away this passed summer. He was such a great Grandfather to Hector. He had lives such a great life. He was a World War II Veteran. His funeral was a military funeral, and it was really neat to see the 21 Gun Salute, and for their family to get the flag. We actually brought that flag home with us and Hector was able to take it with him on a mission. He flew this flag over Iraq in memory of his Grandpa. These are some pictures of him with his crew.

This is a picture done by Tim Cox. It is one of my favorites. It totally reminds me of a place on the Zuni mountains in New Mexico called, Ojo Redondo. We summer our cattle up there and it reminds me of gathering up there in the fall. It is so beautiful with the aspens changing on the edges of the meadow.
